A White Christmas

Perhaps it will be a white one. Perhaps not. But it will certainly be a cold one.

My first Christmas in the Northern Hemisphere. My first Christmas spent away from my family.

Both are momentous. I've quite enjoyed the Christmas vibe - the lights, the markets, seeing things like roasted chestnuts I've only ever read about in books and seen in movies. It is exactly how it is.

I've decided not to dwell on the fact that back home everyone is enjoying summer sun! And neither will I dwell on being away from my family. Sending my parents and siblings a Christmas card brought a tad bit of moisture to my eyes. It really was so strange sending a card home, when I've only ever spent this time of year with my family.

I've spoken to friends here - also missing home. I think this time of the year makes you miss family acutely. So, instead of dwelling on all of this I am embracing this cold cold weather and headed to Scotland!

Quite excited. More excited about my fantabulous new camera...but, that's for another blog.

For now, happy holidays :)
